LinkedIn has officially presented the arrival of its polls, a new function that the platform had been working on for months and that has finally seen the light of day. In this way, users of the well-known professional social network can take the opportunity to know the opinion of their contacts about different topics that they consider of interest.

It is curious that until now the social network did not allow this type of publication, which has been active for a long time on other social networks such as Facebook or Twitter, to which they are very similar. When creating the poll, the user only has to indicate a question and a series of possible answers to it, which the contacts will be able to answer anonymously.

Only the person who created the survey will be able to know who has responded and the option chosen, while this information will be hidden from other users. In addition, an advantage that it has is that the survey can be monitored in real time while it is active, so you will be able to know information about the number of responses and other aspects that may be relevant.

Once the survey reaches the end of the time set by the creator of the survey, they can publish the most voted option, the percentage of votes that were in each option and the votes that were cast in their entirety, but also you can send direct messages to voters if you wish to comment on the result or your participation.

This new functionality, which will progressively reach almost 700 million accounts that the platform has, it is a way of being able to contact other people on the network.

How to create surveys on LinkedIn step by step

Once we have explained what the new surveys consist of, we are going to tell you what you must do to create them.

First you must go to your account LinkedIn, where you will have to go to the box STATUS to click on the option Create a Survey. At that moment a new section will open that will allow you to write the question you want to ask your contacts, as well as the possible answer options. You must choose at least two possible answers and a maximum of four.

In addition, the creator of the survey will be able to choose the time in which the survey will be available, which can be from a minimum of 24 hours to a maximum of two weeks. In this way, the duration can be customized according to the preferences of each user.

Surveys can be published both directly without adding any additional information or content, or by including accompanying text or even using tags or hashtags, just as it is possible to do so in any conventional publication.

Once all the information necessary to create the survey has been completed, it is enough to publish it and it will appear on the wall of users and their contacts, who can share the survey if they wish.

LinkedIn integrates its Live and Events tools

LinkedIn has announced a new solution for live digital events, for which it has opted for the integration of its tools Live and Events, with which the professionals of the platform can be in contact with their communities of followers.

LinkedIn Live allows the transmission of live videos to try to increase the level of interaction with the professional public, while LinkedIn Events allowed to create and join events. Now both tools have been integrated to offer a solution that meets all its characteristics and is more functional and suitable for users.

The platform itself has communicated through a statement that this solution is compatible with third-party services such as Socialive, Wirecast, Streamyard or Restream, and that allows you to share events with the followers of a page and send direct invitations to first-degree contacts.

Once the created virtual event has finished, the generated conversation can be seen in the "Video" tab, a place that all members of your community can access to consult the event, with the advantages that this entails both in terms of dissemination and interaction by users.

The function to prepare interviews by videoconference

Recently, LinkedIn launched a new function for prepare interviews by videoconference, something that has been necessary in the face of the coronavirus health crisis that is being experienced worldwide.

Thanks to this new function, the platform has tried to help professionals to prepare the most common questions that may arise during a selection process and to be able to answer them in an appropriate way in front of the camera, for which advice is offered both from professionals and experts in human resources. All this to help when it comes to finding and being selected for a job.

This new tool resorts to the use of Artificial Intelligence for the analysis of user interviews, which record them answering different typical questions of selection processes. Through different algorithms that take into account voice recognition and natural language processing (NLP), it allows detecting patterns both in the speech itself and in the content offered through the conversation.

Depending on the way in which users answer these questions, different tips and comments will be provided so that you can improve your answers, helping you to know what aspects you need to improve and how you can optimize your interview, so that you can be prepared to any interview that may be conducted online. However, even if you are going to attend an interview physically, it is a good tool to practice and thus be able to know the best possible way to face a job interview.

This new tool called Preparation for interviews is available in the section of Jobs by LinkkedIn.
