Twitter has decided to clean up its social network, so it will delete the accounts that are inactive on its platform, which will make the usernames that were being occupied by them free to be used by other users, but at the same time In time those inactive accounts will be forgotten, and millions of messages and tweets will be deleted.

It is a reality that most of the content that can currently be found on the Internet can disappear from one moment to another on the network, without any kind of notice and only with the owner of a server so deciding. This is the case of Twitter, which has decided to delete the accounts created from its platform and although it ensures that it seeks to "improve the conversation" with it, the reality is that it can be something negative.

Twitter thus puts into operation its new policy of inactive accounts, by which it reserves the right to carry out the draft of those accounts that are not being used in an active way, although this does not mean that they are obliged to publish tweets within the platform. In this way, it must be taken into account that it is necessary to maintain certain activity in the social network to avoid being able to be deleted from the platform.

From the social network they have begun to communicate to users that they will delete the account if they have not logged into the accounts in more than six months, so if you have created an account and have not used it or simply have not entered the social network during this time you could lose your Twitter account.

However, you should not fear for it, since this does not imply the need to carry out any type of special action, but the only thing you have to do to know how to prevent your Twitter account from being deleted is  log into account, bearing in mind that there is a limit until the next December 11.

All those people who have an account with this age and who do not log into the social network before that date will see how the account, as well as all their tweets are deleted, making, at the same time, that username is available to the rest of the users who will be able to create new accounts with those names or change the one they have on the platform.

As we have already mentioned, Twitter has proceeded to send emails to all those users who are being affected by this decision, encouraging them to log into their account again so that it remains active and is not deleted as of this date. From the platform they ensure that this action is due to Twitter's intention to clean the accounts in order to show information that is more up-to-date for users and is also more credible.

Deceased user accounts are lost

One of the most worrying issues in this regard is a consequence that many people will not like and that is that the accounts of deceased users will disappear and with them all the tweets, which can be a problem for all those people who long for a loved one and that they saw the activity of this and its publications there and that, as of next December 11, they will no longer be able to do so.

It should be borne in mind that, at least for the moment, Twitter has confirmed that it has no plans for the moment to do any kind of action focused on the memory of deceased users on its platform, although it has indicated that it is thinking about do it.

The Twitter accounts of deceased people serve to show respect and memory for those people, being common that many users choose to remember them on special dates by retweeting some of their publications. However, this will no longer be possible and will be deleted. without leaving a trace on the internet spectrum and without allowing those people to remember them within the platform as they could do up to now.

In addition, other accounts that are also affected and harmed by this decision of the platform are those of those people who for one reason or another have not been able to log into their accounts in recent months, something that may be due to different reasons, from those people who have not been able to do so because they are on an expedition to those who are volunteers in areas without internet access or are scientists, not forgetting those patients who may have been in a coma or sick without access to the network.

The process will begin on December 11, but all accounts will not disappear that same day, but the process will be progressive over the next few months, so it is unlikely that Twitter will lose a large number of users in a sudden way and that may affect your results, if not it will be a progressive change.

This decision can lead to the end of many accounts that are considered essential, but Twitter seeks to clean inactive accounts, which for some users also represents a positive action, since in many cases they will be able to make use of Usernames that were not available at the time they made their account and that corresponded to users who did not actually make any type of publication.

Therefore, this Twitter decision has some advantages and other disadvantages, depending on the opinion of each person, although it must be borne in mind that if you want to rescue an account that you have on the social network and that you want to prevent it from disappearing completely You just have to log in before December 11 to your account. You will automatically be making your account remain active on the social network.
